The American Musical and Dramatic Academy of Los Angeles (AMDA LA) is the top of the line for students wanting to master their crafts. With programs as dancing, theatre, acting, and the performing arts AMDA LA lures students from all areas of the arts with an incredible campus, outstanding faculty members, available scholarships, and a respectable, accredited course schedule. Located in the heart of the city, Los Angeles is the student’s life blood as they learn the business from the inside out watching it evolve around them in their everyday life.
The faculty is the crowning glory of AMDA LA. Impressive resumes throughout, the school touts some of the industry leaders as instructors. Stage combat is taught by Charles Currier, whose work was seen in Resident Evil: Extinction. Jason Chaet, an indie film legend teaches acting for TV and film. As a director, writer, and producer Chaet offers his students a pleura of knowledge only query to a veteran. Casey Colgan, better known as the incredible Scare Crow in the Wizard of Oz at Madison Square Garden, offers his incredible talents up to his students teaching dance. Teresa Dowell-Vest of For Colored Girls instructs students in acting and pulls from years of experience of directing, acting, production designing and writing. These are only a few of the amazing instructors that students cluster around in hives.
Located on Franklin and Vine, the campus couldn’t be more accessible to those who wish to really indulge in the city. Multiple performance theaters, arts libraries, rehearsal and dance spaces, film, TV, and editing facilities are spread over the city blocks at the feet of the famous Hollywood sign.
